Finals at the 202th our Kings Academy teams made it to the World Championships again in 2024. Three years in a row and our best finish yet.
The Knights Battalion does it again! For an incredible third year running, The King’s Academy has sent its talented cadets to the 2023 – 2024 VEX Robotics World Championships. This year, we were thrilled to have two teams, 57346A and 57346B, representing us at ‘VEX Worlds.’ Over/Under was a tricky game and the teams worked to exploit the rules and opportunities in different ways.
Both teams fought hard and demonstrated exceptional skill, making it out of the grueling qualifiers and into the elimination brackets in their divisions. Team 57346A gave us an edge-of-our-seats journey all the way to the Research Division final! Though they faced a tough 2-1 split loss in that final just short of competing on the biggest stage, their performance was nothing short of inspiring.
Perhaps one of the most rewarding aspects of this year’s championship was our teams’ commitment to lifting others up. They dedicated significant effort to mentoring fellow competitors in programming their robots for the crucial autonomous phase. Insightful scouting allowed them to pinpoint not only who needed assistance but also how to optimize autonomous strategies against specific opponents in any given match. This initiative led to our teams consistently earning vital autonomous points and bonus win points, allowing them to perform beyond expectations. Even more fulfilling was seeing other teams gain valuable new skills they can carry forward. It’s a testament to the Knights’ spirit of collaboration and dedication to the wider robotics community!
