I can't let you get too far into my page without letting you know why I have this island motif going on. I live on an island (go figure). Hawaii to be sure. It's rough living in paradise. Sometimes I just wonder how I'll find the will to keep going on in the face of such adversity. It's not easy waking up everyday to the warm island sun, the cool tropical breeze, on what will be another cloudless, carefree day in paradise.... It's a tough job I tell you, but somebody's got to do it.

robby naish shreading a wave!       Hawaii has long since been known for it's wind and waves. This can account for the fact that Hawaii is know as the Mecca of the wind surfing world. With thousands of miles of unadulterated wind howling across some of the rippin'est waves on the face of the Earth Hawaii is the obvious home of the pro's. Robby Naish himself lives in Kailua on the island of Oahu. And wouldn't you know it... so do I. So what better a place for me to learn to wind-surf than Kailua Bay with the very best. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying any of the pro's would have anything to do with me, it's just cool to be cutting it up on the same turf.

a neat little sailboat jpeg.       And of course sailing in the Sandwich Isles is an absolute must. This is another of those things that I had never really thought about 'till I got here. But let me just say: sailing has got to be one of the greatest hobbies I could ever have picked up. I just love it. And once again the weather of the tropics makes this a dream port for any sailing man (not sailor, remember I'm a Marine). So if you're at all inclined to do so I strongly recommend learning. It's truly something fun for the whole family and just a wonderful experience no one should have to go through life without.
